Patient warming blanket Ready-Heat
active heat in case of hypothermia
Part-No. 1084302
- Actively generates heat after opening the package
- Chemical reaction generates a temperature of 38-40 °C for 8 hours
- Used to mitigate life-threatening hypothermia in patients
- 122 x 86 cm size with 12 heat elements
- Trauma equipment of many military, police and rescue units
The patient warming blanket Ready-Heat II is a vacuum-packed blanket that actively supplies heat to the patient with a total of 12 warming elements. This can mitigate life-threatening consequences of hypothermia*, one of the greatest dangers in shock or burns. It is part of the standard trauma equipment of many military, police and rescue units around the world.
The warming blanket is made of waterproof, coated non-woven medical fabric with a foam core. Over the area of 86 x 122 cm, 12 individual warming elements are sewn into pockets. When the airtight packaging (protective atmosphere) of the blanket is opened, the heating elements are activated and produce a temperature of about 40 °C by chemical reaction with the air.
- Simple activation by opening the packaging and shaking out in the air
- No power source or other tools necessary
- The operating heat of 38-42 °C is reached already after 10-15 minutes
- This active heat is generated by the ceiling for at least 8 hours
- The peak temperature can be up to 52 °C depending on the air supply
*Hypothermia (hypothermia) is a life-threatening drop in core body temperature as a result of shock, burns, or ice and avalanche accidents. Even with a few degrees of temperature loss, passive heat preservation (e.g., through rescue blankets, etc.) is no longer sufficient. The patient must be actively warmed from the outside. This may also be necessary in summer temperatures to prevent hypothermia and increase the chances of survival.
